We are excited to announce the newest owner of Stand Strong Fencing: Shawn Keeven. An accomplished medical professional, Shawn found a franchising opportunity that will allow him to continue practicing medicine, while also setting his family up for the long-term future. 

Who Is Shawn Keeven?

A graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine, Shawn is currently employed as an internal medicine physician with UnityPoint Health. He also serves as the medical director for approximately 180 doctors and advanced practice providers, as well as the medical director for the organization’s hospice unit. 

Shawn currently lives in Moline, Illinois, with his wife Sheilah and their two children, ages 16 and 12. 

Why Did Shawn Keeven Make a Career Change?

Unlike many people who consider franchise ownership as a way of escaping an unpleasant employment situation, Shawn enjoys his current work. However, he wanted to establish a foundation for the next chapter in his life, potentially after retiring from medicine. 

Shawn also had a long-standing admiration for entrepreneurs, and he was not only intrigued by the possibility of enjoying a new revenue stream but also building something he could pass on to his children.
