Focal Point Coaching Welcomes New Franchise Owner in Ohio

We are excited to announce the newest owner of Focal Point Coaching: Chad Ackerman. A hard worker with extensive coaching and managerial experience, Chad is excited to launch this new venture and enjoy the freedom and control that come with franchise ownership. 

Who Is Chad Ackerman?

Chad is a native of Ohio and grew up on a farm.  Chad has two children, a 20-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son and currently lives in Dublin Ohio with his fiancé. 

Chad had a long successful career as a corporate executive before launching his own real estate business in 2020 that he recently sold.

Why Did Chad Make a Career Change?

After selling his business, Chad faced an important question: What next? What was the next chapter in his professional life going to look like?

Chad knew that he did not want to go back to the corporate world.  The lack of decision making powers and long hours working for someone else was not going to cut it after experiencing life as an entrepreneur.  

But he also knew that he was not interested in starting another business from scratch. He wanted something between these two extremes. Chad started listening to the Franchising 101 Podcast around this time, which sparked an interest in franchise ownership – something he eventually decided was the perfect solution. 

Why Will Chad Make a Great Franchise Owner?

Chad has just about every skillset a new franchise owner needs to succeed. His communication skills are top notch, and his managerial, HR, and financial experience will also serve him well in this role. 

But these are not the only things Chad brings to the table. As FranCoach CEO, Tim Parmeter, explains, “Chad is just a good person, and he is an excellent leader, who forms genuine connections with others.” 

These skills would certainly prove useful for running any franchise, but they will prove especially helpful in the one Chad chose.

Why Did Chad Choose Focal Point Consulting?

Two different franchise opportunities resonated with Chad during the Discovery Process, and he found himself really struggling to choose between them. It was at this point that Tim encouraged Chad to take a step back and consider why he wanted to own his own franchise and what his goals were. 

As Tim puts it,

“That was really the turning point. Chad realized that he and his family did not want to stay in the Ohio area over the long-term. They wanted the ability to relocate plus he wanted the most flexibility possible, which helped him zero in on Focal Point.”

Focal Point owners focus on small to midsize businesses – those in the $1 to $5 million annual revenue range.  These businesses are everywhere, and they tend to need help improving their business. Focal Point coaches work with clients on a weekly, one-on-one basis to help them identify all the problems, how to measure each problem, and then implement world-class solutions to turn the problem into a success.

Given his strong communication and coaching skills, Chad is sure to excel with this new endeavor. But perhaps most importantly, Chad has been in the shoes of those he will be trying to help. He knows what it is like to be a small business owner in need of guidance, and he’s excited to have the chance to leverage this unique perspective.
