An Air Force Veteran Who Is Ready to Take Off with a New Franchise Opportunity: RJ Sudberry

We are excited to announce the newest owner of PuroClean: RJ Sudberry. A former member of the U.S. Air Force, RJ is excited to work with a company that includes a number of other military veterans among its leadership team and franchise family. 

Who Is RJ Sudberry?

After serving his country as an aviation mechanic for eight years, RJ moved to the private sector. But while his employer changed, he continued to do the same kind of mechanical work he had done for the Air Force. 

RJ’s wife, Kelly, will also work on this new business venture. Kelly currently owns a salon suites, so she is certainly no stranger to entrepreneurship, and she will be able to use the skills she’s acquired along the way to help the couple achieve success. 

The couple recently moved from Arizona to a Fort Worth, Texas suburb, with their three children, ages 7, 10, and 17.   

Why Did RJ Sudberry Make a Career Change?

RJ always found mechanical work very rewarding, especially the sense of accomplishment he would feel after performing a full repair on an aircraft or motor vehicle. But there were also things about the work that he did not care for – things he wanted to change. 

He wanted to be in charge of his schedule, to spend his time the way he wanted to, and to have more time for his family. He also wanted to stop bumping his head on a metaphorical ceiling, and start generating enough money to create a legacy for his children. These are the same things that most FranCoach clients want: freedom, flexibility, and control

So, RJ began listening to the Franchising 101 Podcast, and he eventually reached out to the team to help him start along the path of becoming a franchise owner. 

Why Will RJ Sudberry Make a Great Franchise Owner?

Over the course of his career, RJ has developed a fantastic work ethic. And that is something every new franchise owner needs to be successful. As FranCoach CEO Tim Parmeter explains, “His background in the Air Force has drilled into him the importance of hard work and following the dang plan.”

It is also a business that will greatly benefit from customer referrals – something Kelly in particular has a great deal of experience with thanks to her current work as a franchise owner.  

But the thing that may have truly sealed the deal for RJ was PuroClean’s military-friendly culture. A big portion of the PuroClean management team are veterans, as are many of the other franchise owners. This all helped make RJ feel very comfortable with the franchisor and eager to join their team.
