An Equipment Technician Gets the Chance to Clean Up with His New Franchise
onWe are excited to announce the newest owner of PuroClean: Michael McIntire. Eager to break free of the monotony of his 9 to 5 job and embrace new challenges everyday, Michael is ready to start his journey as a business owner—and we can’t wait to see how high he climbs.
Who Is Michael McIntire?
After receiving advanced biomedical equipment repair training during his five years in the United States Marine Corps, Michael transitioned smoothly into the private sector. He currently works as a field service technician for an international medical technology firm, where he oversees all customer relations and equipment within his territory.
Michael lives in the Sacramento, California area with his wife, Amanda, and their brand new baby.
Why Did Michael McIntire Make a Career Change?
Despite his success in both military and civilian careers, Michael had one goal left to achieve: owning his own business.
Not one to thrive in repetitive routines, he craved the opportunity to apply his problem-solving skills while enjoying the autonomy that comes with being his own boss. After exploring his options, he realized that franchising offered the ideal balance of independence and support for him and his family.
So, he reached out to the FranCoach team, and the rest is history.

Why Will Michael McIntire Make a Great Franchise Owner?
Having already achieved great things during his military and professional careers, Michael clearly possesses the intelligence, skill, and work ethic to thrive in his new venture.
Beyond that, he brings a range of essential soft skills that are vital to a new franchise owner’s success. Michael is highly motivated to learn and maintains an open, adaptable mindset—avoiding the rigidity that can challenge many new franchisees.
As FranCoach franchise coach Scott Hoots explains, “It was a pleasure working with Mike because of his persistence, flexibility, and openness to new ideas. He always asked great questions, and he is a fantastic communicator.”
Why Did Michael McIntire Choose PuroClean?
Michael was open to a variety of different franchise opportunities, but he was laser-focused on finding the perfect fit. As Scott explains, “Mike was determined from the very start of the process to find a business that matched the things that were important to him and his family.”
So, while he considered a number of possibilities Scott suggested, he quickly gravitated toward PuroClean. Given the brand’s combination of industry-leading training, recession-resistant business model, and top-tier veteran entrepreneur program, it seemed like the ideal match for Michael and his family.
Known as “The Paramedics of Property Damage,” PuroClean provides water damage remediation, flood water removal, fire and smoke damage remediation, mold removal, and biohazard cleanup to commercial and residential customers. With nearly 500 franchises currently operating across the United States, PuroClean has rapidly become the country’s leading provider of restoration services.
As PuroClean representative Steve Griffith notes, “Mike is very analytical but was able to avoid ‘analysis paralysis.’ This is because of his outstanding communication skills. It was a pleasure working with him because of his keen ability to overcome obstacles and move forward.”
