FranCoach is thrilled to announce that B. Griffin and D. Smith, a married couple from Statesville, North Carolina, are opening an N Zone Sports franchise in their hometown. They worked with FranCoach coach Graham Chapman to find their fit.
Done Building Dreams for Someone Else
Griffin and Smith both lead in senior-focused healthcare. Griffin runs a care center as its administrator, with a focus on systems, team development and results. Smith oversees growth and marketing for 15 clinics across North Carolina and brings more than 15 years of leadership experience.
They love serving people. But they were tired of fueling someone else’s goals and being held to metrics they couldn’t control. They wanted autonomy, a business of their own, and a way to “do well by doing good.” Smith was ready to “turn the page” and put his growth and marketing skills to work for his own enterprise.

The couple is mission-driven. Serving seniors, youth, people with disabilities and underserved communities all matter to them. As they explored options, they realized they were ready to move beyond healthcare and invest in the next generation. N Zone Sports lets them help kids grow, build confidence and learn teamwork right in their own community.

About N Zone Sports
Founded in 2008 and based in Tampa, Florida, N Zone Sports runs youth sports leagues in more than 100 markets. Kids from preschool age up play soccer, flag football, basketball, T-ball, golf and tennis, and there are adult leagues too. The brand offers a positive, no-pressure alternative to win-at-all-costs leagues: every child gets plenty of playing time, and coaches focus on teamwork, leadership, effort and sportsmanship.
Coach Spotlight: Graham Chapman
Graham Chapman is a Certified Franchise Executive who knows franchising from every angle. He spent more than 15 years at 919 Marketing, helping build it into a leading PR and digital agency for franchise brands, and he is the face of the viral #WhiskeyWednesday series. He also serves on the leadership team of the IFA’s Supplier Forum Advisory Board.
A former college baseball player at Davidson College, Graham brings that same discipline and energy to every client. Off the clock, he’s an amateur drummer, a kazoo enthusiast, and the keeper of a small backyard petting zoo of chickens, ducks and more.
