From the C-Suite to Coaching Others: Michael Sakmar Joins Focal Point

on

Michael Sakmar spent more than 20 years in senior executive leadership, rising to General Manager-level roles within a large multinational organization and leading professional services teams across industrial, technology, software, and cybersecurity environments. A former member of the military, Michael brings structure, discipline, and steady leadership under pressure to everything he does.

After stepping away from a senior leadership role and finding advisory work inconsistent, Michael began working with FranCoach coach Ethel Roy-Ford to find a more predictable, structured, and scalable path forward — one that didn’t mean returning to the corporate track. He landed on Focal Point, drawn to its strong alignment with his executive and professional-services background, its recurring-revenue model, and a virtual, non-territorial structure that let him build relationship-based client work rather than cold-calling.

“From our very first conversation, it was clear Michael was intentional about building something meaningful,” said Ethel Roy-Ford, Michael’s FranCoach coach. “His leadership background and passion for helping organizations grow make Focal Point a perfect fit, and I’m excited to see the impact he’ll make in this next chapter.”

Focal Point’s Krystal Walker, Coach Recruitment Manager, shared the same confidence: “We’re genuinely excited to see Michael step into this next chapter with Focal Point. He has the background, the presence, and the mindset to make a real impact with his clients, and we are confident he’s going to thrive in this model.”

Michael’s move from the executive suite to executive coaching is a great example of experience finding its next home. FranCoach is excited to see the impact he makes with Focal Point.

“The conversation we had, just on that first call, when you said, ‘Tell more about Ryan, what flips your switch, what gets you out of bed in the morning’… it was really important to me to know those things upfront.”

“One of the lessons that I learned very quickly was to focus on what is driving you as an individual. What makes you get up, and what do you want to get up and do every day?”
