Chris Tayson spent 25+ years as a dedicated and decorated Deputy Sherriff in the Twin Cities area. Chris knew that upon his retirement from law enforcement it was time to pursue his dream of owning a business. The trick, of course, was finding the right business.
Chris started his process differently than most FranCoach clients in that he began research on funding first. Chris connected with one of the preeminent franchise funding companies – Guidant Financial – to learn about his options and investment ranges. Once Chris realized he would have multiple funding options available through Guidant, he reached out to FranCoach to find the right franchise.
The FranCoach process helped uncover what would be the ideal owner role and business model to meet Chris’s skills and core values. After vetting three franchisors, the best fit ultimately became clear as Chris really liked the idea of a fast-casual brand that would be relatively new to his area. Also, key was to find a franchise with a culture that appealed to Chris’ family values. The franchise that was the best match for Chris was Teriyaki Madness.
Teriyaki Madness is a fast-casual restaurant concept serving up quality fresh, healthy, and flavorful Asian food in a hip atmosphere. TMad is a rapidly growing brand due to their great food and impressive year over year growth. Chris and the Teriyaki Madness team are already scouting locations in the St. Paul, Minnesota area with sights set on opening late in 2018.
Congratulations to Chris and thanks to Teriyaki Madness and Guidant Financial for their great teamwork. All of us at FranCoach know where we are eating next time we are in the Twin Cities!
